1. Natural is BEST: Choose foods the way nature made them whenever possible: a whole apple instead of applesauce. Edamame beans instead of tofu. Wine instead of heavy desserts - but eat the grapes too!!

2. Clean not Chemicals: Eating chemicals and processed foods simply is not as healthy as organic. Avoid degenerative diseases by eating organic food. Grow a garden on your balcony. Buy free-range only. Insist on antibiotic and hormone-free. Try sulphate-free wine.

3. Sugar May be Sweet, but…: In moderation. Always. Sugar may be delicious, but it is a terrible, inflammatory substitution for other, healthy forms of energy. Eat less sugar and try more whole-food versions, like raspberries or pineapple when cravings strike.

4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: Water, seltzer, teas, coconut water and other forms of non-sugar beverages. Staying hydrated will help with fat-burning, detoxing, muscle-building and brain and organ function. Just Be careful not to overdo it with the coconut water because excess Magnesium will make you feel lethargic and queasy.

5. Neither Fast NOR Famine: Start your day with a smart, small breakfast, then eat a little healthy something every 2-3 hours, to prevent you being really hungry. This will stoke your metabolism and keep you burning fat and fuel all day long. As for dinner, keeping it light will be easy, because you are well hydrated and have been nibbling on healthy snacks periodically to keep the hunger pangs away.
